BACKTAGGING: Yes, forever! I can at times become a turtle when work stresses me out, but will backtag forever.
SHIPPING/SMUT: Absolutely. Vali doesn't completely know what to do with feelings for women, and generally isn't around long to develop them so he's definitely more of a one night stand, booty call when you need a good fuck kind of guy. If he had feelings for anyone, he'd be his brother's wife, but that literally took years to get to where it was, and it's not something either of them discuss much at all. Shipping might be hard with him because it'll take a decent amount of CR to get anything past fuck buddies with him.
FIGHTING/INJURY: Open to this, definitely. He's a trained warrior for his father and Asgard, and he's one of the best fighters Asgard has, partially because he's the most vicious. Don't expect him to fight fair either, he'll do anything and everything he needs to in order to win, but also, once he has you in a position where his victory is inevitable, he'll be cruel about making it last for the most pain he can inflict.
KILLING: Maybe, definitely needs to be plotted out, because he's technically a god so he's extremely hard to kill, and incredibly well trained. Be prepared to go with him if you try to kill him, because he's a take you with me at all costs kind of asshole too.
LOOKING FOR: Vali is a character from a WIP book series, so I'm here to roll him into different situations in order to flush him out. Shipping is fun, Smut is funner, but we're also here for all the different kind of trouble he can get into in other ways. We're here for other pantheons, other Norse gods, even if they have a different relationship to his than in his actual canon, multiverse au shenanigans, etc.

background
Vali is the youngest of Odin's favored sons, the baby of the family, and the most spoiled by Odin and there by ensuring he followed directly in his father's footsteps.
He trained hard, never able to really get out of his brothers' shadows as a warrior because they all had too many years on him. But it made him power hungry in a lot of ways, not for the throne but to be able to win his father's favor over the rest of them by going hard, being vicious and cruel, and doing what it took to make sure his father noticed him. It's also bred within him a deep, unwavering loyalty to his father and Asgard.
He also inherited his father's thirst for pleasure and fun, and he can be practically insatiable in the bedroom, especially after a mission or a hunt. Vali's also missing empathy. Not by breeding or training, but there's just no switch in his head to really connect with people. It can take years of interacting with someone in a certain way to learn how to care for them, and even then, don't expect him to be deep or want to talk about it at all. Because of this, there's also very few people that have made it past his empathy and into what could be called his heart, Nanna, Baldr's wife being one of them. The two started up a benefits relationship from nearly the moment she came to Asgard, and while he'll never admit it, Nanna is one of the few people who has him wrapped around her finger and could make him kill for her. After Baldr's death, Vali is the one who hunted Hodr down for Odin and Nanna to extract vengeance for the death. Not sparing any mercy despite the person he was hunting being his brother. Showing just how vicious he could be.
By the events of Hotel Fen, Vali is one of Odin's most loyal, doing anything and everything to keep his father's rule intact and keep Nanna and Forseti, Nanna's son who he's raised almost as his own, safe and happy in their roles in Asgard. Even being a slightly better father than Odin to Forseti, because of Nanna and Vali's vicious and sadistic natures, the boy inherited none of Baldr's kindness or heart and has very much followed in Vali's footsteps. He is ready to finally finish the break in the family and see the rightful heir on the throne. (By rightful heir, as much as he is loyal to his father, he would sleep fine if Odin passed and Nanna and Forseti took the throne with him; some of Nanna's drive for the throne may have rubbed off on him, not that he'll ever raise a hand to make it happen - just take advantage of things rolled that way.)
